Sami Carlson
Sami is a 200-Hour Certified Yoga Instructor, trained under Lauren Rotunno at Riffs Yoga Studios. Originally from Chicago, she moved to San Diego to attend SDSU and be closer to the ocean. With a background in gymnastics and diving, Sami has always been passionate about movement and cultivating a strong mind-body connection.
Yoga has been a transformative part of Sami’s life, helping her navigate mental health challenges and find a sense of clarity and peace. Her personal journey fuels her intention to create a warm, welcoming space where students can reconnect with themselves and feel supported just as they are.
When she’s not teaching yoga, you can usually find her jumping in the ocean, spending time with friends and family, or snowboarding with her dad in Colorado. She is thankful to call Riffs a 2nd home!

This is an intermediate class and yoga experience is recommended.
Vinyasa is an active breath to movement practice that includes postures to create heat, build strength and flexibility. Advanced postures may be offered, though the class remains accessible to most who have some experience with yoga. This class incorporates binds, arm balances, backbends, and chaturangas.
