Class Styles
Alignment Focused
Slow Flow:
A great class for all levels.
Slow Flow is an unhurried vinyasa class, balancing breath and body. This practice takes a slower pace providing the opportunity to build proper alignment and explore the intricacies of each pose. Slow does not necessarily mean easy, expect a level of challenge in this class.
Hatha:
All-levels, with optional advanced postures.
This is an all-levels static practice where you can expect to hold traditional yoga postures for several breaths, allowing time to explore alignment and engagement within your body. Hatha provides a strong foundation for stability, balance, and full-body awareness. While this practice is slow, it can still be physically challenging. Optional opportunities to explore more advanced postures may be offered, with modifications available. Unlike Vinyasa, this class does not emphasize chaturangas, though they may occasionally be incorporated with control and intention.
Passive Practice
Restorative Yoga:
Beginner Friendly.
Restorative is a passive practice using props (such as blankets and bolsters) to facilitate deep relaxation and restore the nervous system. The class is floor-based and generally held passively to allow for students to unwind and restore. This is class is great for anyone and everyone seeking balance and relaxation from a busy lifestyle.
Yin Yoga:
Great to complement an active practice or fitness routine.
A slow and meditative class that is composed of seated and reclined poses, each held anywhere from 2-7 minutes. This unique style focuses on targeting the connective tissues (bones, joints, ligaments and fascia.) This class emphasizes body awareness and does require a physical effort to hold the poses which may be challenging to some.
Active Practice
Vinyasa:
This is an intermediate class and yoga experience is recommended.
Vinyasa is an active breath to movement practice that includes postures to create heat, build strength and flexibility. Advanced postures may be offered, though the class remains accessible to most who have some experience with yoga. This class incorporates binds, arm balances, inversions, backbends, and chaturangas.
Breathwork
This is an intermediate class. First-timers are very welcome, but please read the full description on the class schedule.
A guided holotropic breathwork session to regulate the nervous system, expand awareness, and support emotional release. This practice can be intense but is adaptable—listen to your body and modify as needed.
Specialty Class
Sound Healing
For Everyone
Adding another energetic layer, compounding the energetic effects of any practice, Sound Healing works in part by activating our parasympathetic nervous system, moving the mind and body from Fight or Flight into a state of Rest and Digest. Sound Healing brings the body and mind into a state of deep relaxation and energetic alignment. The vibrations of the instruments harmonize with the vibrations of the physical, emotional, and energetic body, releasing dis-harmony that we may hold as a result of life events and/or the high levels of stress that we experience in today's modern world.
Live Music
For Everyone
A Yoga class accompanied by a local musician, This adds an extra meditative aspect through the vibrations and harmonies of the instrument.
