Sophie Hecht

I’m a San Diego-based guide in movement and mindful connection, with roots as a former college athlete and soccer coach. For much of my life, movement was about performance—pushing limits, chasing goals. But when I stepped away from competitive sports, I found myself seeking a deeper kind of grounding. That’s when yoga found me. It offered not just physical strength, but a sense of presence, breath, and inner spaciousness that I hadn’t known I was missing.

Now, I hold space for others to return to their bodies with gentleness and joy. I teach vinyasa, sculpt, HIIT, bodyweight, and pre/postnatal movement practices—all with the intention of honoring each season of life and each body exactly as it is. Whether we’re flowing through a slow, breath-led sequence or igniting heat with playful movement, my classes are invitations to explore, to soften, and to remember your own strength.

I especially love incorporating playful elements like inversions and arm balances—places where strength meets curiosity. These moments make me feel powerful in an entirely new way, and I love sharing that sense of wonder and possibility with others.

To me, movement is a form of remembrance—a way to reconnect with self, with stillness, and with something greater. It’s a practice of self-love and shared energy. I’m here to co-create spaces rooted in compassion, curiosity, and community—where we show up as we are, breathe together, and grow together.

Sophie Hecht instructs the following:
  • Vinyasa
  • This is an intermediate class and yoga experience is recommended.

Vinyasa is an active breath to movement practice that includes postures to create heat, build strength and flexibility. Advanced postures may be offered, though the class remains accessible to most who have some experience with yoga. This class incorporates binds, arm balances,  backbends, and chaturangas.
